Great location, great price, comfortable.

The beds were more comfortable than I expected. Great location - central and a 15 min walk to most top locations or hop on the tram.

The stairs. There is no lift at this property. The stairs are quite steeps and a spiral staircase, so works your glutes a treat. We were 3 floors up and that was more than enough, I can’t imagine how the people on the higher floors managed.

Good value for a centrally located room. I'll stay again.

Excellent location being just minutes from Amsterdam Central Station with lots of places to eat and things to do in the immediate vicinity, and a tram stop nearby if you're wishing to go a bit further afield and want to save your legs a bit! The room was basic as expected, but clean and fine for our needs. Showers were hot and the room was well heated. Free wifi. The reception team were helpful and stored our luggage after we'd checked out ahead of our return to Schiphol.

Not a problem for me but travellers should be aware the stairs are quite steep and can be difficult to navigate with a lot of luggage, or if you have mobility issues. Being a central location I'd advise on taking earplugs for sleeping. I took mine and slept fine.

Good sized room, with bathroom. Check in and out was quick and easy. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The constant smell of raw sewage walking up the stairs. 1 key for a room of 5 people. Really poor extraction.

Worst hotel in Amsterdam

Location was great very central for all our needs during the trip

The height in which my room was located it did not state in the description that there would be 6 flights of very steep uneven small stairs with out a lift. I am diabetic and cannot be up high for health reasons which I stated to the reception to which I was told they would move my room the next day. Only to be told they cannot do that and that “you people complain too much”. I was politely explaining to the gent on reception had this been in the property description prior to booking I would not of done so or wasted my money. The place was shocking the heating was up full whack and could not be turned off I slept with the window wide open during winter with the very loud sounds of the town until the early hours. Unsatisfactory is what hotel Ben is and this being my 18th stay I’m Amsterdam I am insulted at the treatment from your very very unprofessional staff. I will never be returning here nor recommending

It is close to city centre within walking distance of everything

Property is not the cleanest hotel I stayed in. staff also work us up on our second morning there to ask us if we were checking out did not knock on door just walked right in didn’t receive an apology or any compensation my boyfriend had to go demand an apology

Good value money if you just go to sleep

Location was amazing, close to the train station, close to the Red District and Sex Museum and close to the shopping area. It was possible to walk to all these places.

The bathroom was very small, there was a tiny "wardrobe" and the single beds were small. We stayed 3 friends, 2 nights so it worked out but it is not the most comfortable room.

Best location for a hotel

Best thing about this hotel is the location, really near to everything and the centre. Room was clean and staff was really kind. Bed was comfortable also. For the costs of Amsterdam, it was the cheapest hotel but I don't regret my booking with this hotel.

Apart for the people next door that were screaming during the night, it was okay. You could hear everyone walking downstairs or in the corridor. Room little bit small.

The location was excellent.

The room was basic, the double bed was two singles beds pushed together., had too leave door open too use toilet (good job I was solo.) No TV didn't need it but for what I paid I should have the choice.

The location, most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The beds were quite comfortable.

I’m not gonna judge them on the size of the rooms or the outdated, worn out interiors because that’s kind of expected with a 1 star hotel. However, some things didn’t meet my expectations starting with the stairs which were a complete nightmare. The walls were also super thin so you could hear through other rooms, at some point i was up at night because of the sound of water dripping in the neighbouring room’s bathroom. Not all rooms are well maintained, we had to change rooms because of some plumbing issues. Despite all of this I have to add that the beds were somewhat comfortable. The staff were also doing their best and were very responsive to our needs and always willing to help make the most out of what they’ve got. It’s honestly not a comfortable place to be in but if you’re willing to give up comfort for the sake of the location then go for it but don’t expect more than a clean bed and a bathroom.
